About Us

Dogwhistle was created as a way to record and self release our own projects but quickly grew into a community.

Our goal was to create an affordable space where local bands could have a foothold to realize their ideas and a means to distribute their art and in turn foster a growing local scene.

Erick Garcia

Graduated UCSD with a BA in ICAM. Currently interning at Signature Sound in San Diego. I like to put a big emphasis on getting a great sound right from the recording process and accentuating it in the mixing process. Over the last five years, I've been trying to take as many projects on to put new challenges in from of me to continue adding to the Dogwhistle portfolio including live sessions, EP’s, albums and live shows. My aim is to keep upgrading our studio and always getting the most out of the gear that we have now in order to help bands realize their ideas. Bands I have been a part of or are currently in can be found below.

A self-taught mixing enthusiast, I’ve been learning mixing and mastering fundamentals from the ground up over the last seven years. I’m always looking to create unconventional, yet elegant mixes, and to keep projects focused and clear at a high level. I’ve learned that recording and mixing is tightly coupled with all other aspects of music creation, and as such I’ve spent the last two years gaining experience with songwriting, band management, music promotion, and sound design. My goal is to help artists take risks and create something that fulfills and exceeds their vision, and for myself to in turn be inspired by them. Bands I have been a part of or are currently in can be found below.
